I have to disagree with this statement. Our guild had the active members each contribute to buy the guild hall, it made it more a group activity than just going out and buying it. They also got to vote on which one to use for the guild, same as the cape. I think those kinds of activities help build community in a guild.

We also documented on our forum the contributions that people made towards the hall so nobody could say they were scammed or whatever.

Hey if you (OP) are interested in a PvE guild, check us out. See sig for forum site.
Well fair enough I was just pointing out that no guild leader should be asking for gold from their members. If they offer to donate it to the betterment of the guild then thats cool. I just don't trust anyone that goes around demanding money from new members.

IMHO: Never join a guild where the leader doesn't have the finances (in-game that is) to buy a hall that goes the same for a cape.

--edit--
by the way..dont use peoples sns as it is against forum policies. as for you not reading rules BellyFlop, I suggest you read them or you will have mods all over your posts . That goes the same for you Dark. Keep in-game anger/hatred in-game and not on gwg.

I would never join a Guild that Asked for any gold, Like i see people spamming the whole chat saying Guild looking for members join only 100gold

Would u join a guild that cant even paid 100g for a invite. you know whats next can u give 2k for cape and another 2k for Hall and another 2k for my bla bla bla.

If u dont have the finance dont make a Guild and if dont want to waste 100g and want to make sure this person is for real talk 2 him/her first and direct him/her to your website/forums and get them to reg, is they do all this then they will want to join a real and not just looking for something that they dont even know.

Well if I so happened to see the IGN, and hypothetically had a conversation with him.....and it might have went something like this... hypothetically that is:

Me: Hey, scammer. How bout we give the 2k back to the guildie you stole it from?

Him: shut up i didn't steel it

Me: I've seen screenshots of the entire convo *this was technically a lie since what I saw was a post like this and not a screenshot but meh. Er hypothetically of course.*

Him: i never sed i scammed him

Me: Not directly, no you didn't
Me: but laughing at him and telling him to report you because nothing will happen...

Him: well cuz it wont vcuz i didnt really steel it but to shut all u up i will pay him bac

Me:...isn't necessarily proving yourself.
Me: well I see he is online now

Him: well im goin to playsome battle field 2 with my clan

Me: well a trade takes all but 30 seconds

Him: well when i get 20k from comunity ill payhim bac the 2k

Me: and how long is that going to be?

Him: umm wonce they gie the 20k ill give the 2k

*What I was going to type*How about you call your friend "John" and get the gold back?

*What I got*
Player ******** is not online.

Of course all this bad grammer and horrible spelling is purely hypothetical.

Well, I thank you all for trying. It's really sad that these kinds of things happen. He won't give it back no matter what, and I doubt we could force him to, but there were others to, and there will be more after me.

And what is being done to get the word out about these scammers? I see posts about people being scammed by others and by guilds. But who are they? How do I know who to look out for? I understand that displaying names is against the rules for whatever reason, but I don't see how others could be stopped from getting scammed like this too. I'm up for any ideas anyone has for a community project that could raise scammer awareness or somthing. Maybe even a website (I can design and code)?
